A LESSON IN APPLIQUE By Niki from Niki's Sew Country
Traditional quilting we see all around us (stars, 9 patch, etc) is made by using pieced blocks, with rotary cutters and sewing machine, i.e. piecing blocks with smaller pieces by hand. We’ve all seen the cute little shapes and figures added to quilts. These are appliquéd to quilts. This is my favorite part of quilting. The possibilities are endless. You can add a name to a quilt. Maybe a saying. Something special you want to tell the person you’re giving the quilt to.
